Not just chasing grades
I actively sought opportunities to build things, work with industry, lead people, communicate, compete, and put what I learned into practice.
At Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (Bachelor of Applied Science in Data Analytics with Honours, 2021–2025, CGPA 3.9/4.0), I initiated and facilitated a partnership with Involve Asia as the programme's Industry Partner, securing 1-year placements for 4 students at the highest monthly allowance among partners; negotiated a speaking engagement with Mesolitica's CEO for an industrial lecture on Malaysian Generative AI; moderated an industrial talk on Data Warehousing by Prasarana Malaysia's VP II; and represented my faculty in Handball.
My Diploma in Computer Science at Universiti Teknologi MARA (2017–2020, CGPA 3.9/4.0) was just as eventful outside the classroom. I was Champion and Best Debater at the 2018 UiTM Johor Debate Competition, trained by the Election Commission to deliver voter education talks and help refine SPR's voter education module, and won a Gold Award at the 2019 Digitalised International Invention, Innovation and Design Competition for an investment analytics game based on Bursa Malaysia. As Exco for the Debate Club and English Language Society, I organized various events and frequently served as emcee for these two clubs. And in whatever time was left over, just for fun, I picked up 1st place in a fashion show, the lead antagonist role in a theatre production, 3rd place in poetry recitation, 2nd place in impromptu pantun, and a stint as bass drummer in the marching band.
